Enterprise Wi‑Fi Case Study: International Legal Firm Stephenson Harwood

Overview

Delivering reliable, business‑class Wi‑Fi to support mobile working across a global law firm’s London headquarters.

Stephenson Harwood is a leading international law firm with offices across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, supporting over 700 staff worldwide. Reliable wireless connectivity is critical to collaboration, productivity and client service within its central London headquarters.

Following a move into new offices at Finsbury Circus, the firm identified significant limitations with its existing controller‑based wireless network. Reliability issues, limited scalability and growing demand from mobile and guest devices meant the existing solution was no longer fit for purpose.

Krome Technologies was engaged to design and deploy a modern, business‑grade wireless solution. This enterprise Wi‑Fi case study highlights how Krome delivered a secure, scalable WLAN capable of supporting a growing mobile workforce and guest connectivity requirements.

When we moved into our new premises, we wanted uninterrupted wireless connectivity throughout the building and across eight floors.

Aerohive Wireless LAN Deployment

As part of this Aerohive (now Extreme Networks) Wi‑Fi case study, Krome designed and implemented a controller‑less, cloud‑managed WLAN to support staff devices, mobile technologies and guest access.

Aerohive was selected for its ability to scale easily, deliver centralised visibility and avoid the complexity and cost associated with controller‑based alternatives. The solution provides separate, secure wireless networks for staff, corporate devices and visitors, while maintaining consistent performance across the building.

The new wireless network was implemented in just two weeks and now delivers fast, reliable connectivity across all eight floors of the London office. Following the success of the London deployment, the solution has since been extended to Stephenson Harwood’s Paris and Dubai offices.
