Davies Arnold Cooper, now part of DAC Beachcroft, is an international commercial law firm with over 400 staff and offices across the UK and internationally. The firm’s existing Fibre Channel SAN solution was limited in scope, expensive to upgrade and only provided partial protection across its environment. Performance constraints and restricted scalability were impacting day‑to‑day operations, and a more robust disaster recovery strategy was required to safeguard business continuity.
Krome Technologies was engaged to review the firm’s infrastructure and design a modern, cost‑effective solution. This disaster recovery case study highlights how Krome delivered a fully replicated, virtualised platform that improved data protection, reduced complexity and enabled future growth.

As part of this storage virtualisation case study, Krome designed and implemented a fully integrated disaster recovery solution combining VMware virtualisation with Dell SAN storage.
The new solution replaced the firm’s existing Fibre Channel infrastructure with a scalable iSCSI‑based SAN environment. Using VMware High Availability technologies and SAN‑to‑SAN replication, the system provides continuous protection of business‑critical applications while eliminating single points of failure.
Automated replication and snapshot capabilities allow data to be recovered quickly and with minimal disruption, while the simplified architecture enables the internal IT team to manage the system effectively without reliance on third‑party support. The solution also provides the flexibility to scale storage capacity on demand without impacting operations.
