Krome celebrate a year of fundraising for Shooting Star Children’s Hospice

Over the last 12 months Krome has raised £12,733.00 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, a local children’s hospice charity.

Back in September 2018 we chose to form a corporate partnership with leading Children’s Hospice charity Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, committing to a minimum of a 12 months of fundraising activities, with a target of raising £10,000 for this incredibly worthy charity.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. The charity has two hospices Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford, providing support for families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

It was important to us that we supported a local charity, one that would enable us to make a positive impact within the local community in Surrey; Shooting Star Children’s Hospices supports 700 families living across Surrey and London, they provide support for families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement, with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

“Our corporate partners are a lifeline for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, as demand for our services continue to grow; with referrals increasing by 38% in the last year alone and with just 10% of income coming from government funding, we heavily rely on fundraising activities and supporters’ such as Krome to raise the vital funds we need to keep our services running. We’re incredibly grateful to the Krome team for all of their fundraising activities and their support over the past 12 months.”

Alex Rennie, Corporate Relationship Manager, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Over the past year our team have been absolutely amazing, fully embracing our fundraising activities, with our colleagues taking part in various fundraising activities and challenges; we’ve held a pub quiz night, we have walked across hot coals, we’ve wrapped Christmas presents in shopping centers, one of our incredible team ran the London Marathon! We’ve had people taking on obstacle courses, two members of the Krome team rode 100 miles in the Ride London challenge and finally a group of us took part in a sponsored 10.2 mile riverside walk from the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice in Hampton back to our new HQ in Chertsey.

With the Krome team either taking part, sponsoring, sharing or supporting their colleagues, we have successfully managed to raise an incredible £12,733.00 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

We’re incredibly proud of each and every one of our phenomenal team, for every penny, step, run, ride, or second they have spent on helping us to support this very deserving cause.
