The relocation involved moving almost 500 staff alongside their IT systems, while also completing a large‑scale desktop refresh in preparation for a company‑wide Windows 7 rollout. The entire programme needed to be delivered outside of business hours and within a tightly controlled timeframe, with no disruption to fee‑earning activity.

Large‑Scale IT & Workplace Relocation Delivery

As part of this IT office relocation case study, Krome worked closely with Stephenson Harwood to design a detailed relocation and contingency strategy.

Comprehensive site surveys, risk assessments and pre‑planning activities were completed across both locations. A dedicated project manager and specialist engineering teams were assigned to manage desktop refurbishment, re‑imaging and redeployment alongside the physical office move.

The relocation was executed over three consecutive weekends using a phased approach. Devices were upgraded, transported, redeployed and tested so that staff arrived at their desks on Monday mornings to fully operational workstations, with minimal impact on business operations.
