Krome Technologies enter two teams for ‘Steel Man’ Triathlon, raising money for The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust.

The challenge

The team at Krome have undertaken the challenge of completing a ‘Steel Man’ relay triathlon. This is quite a challenge considering half of the team struggle to walk to the pub without kicking up a sweat.

The full Standard (aka Olympic) distance race is held at the fantastic Dorney Lake, the Rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games. The SteelMan Triathlon is a 1,500m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for an 8-lap bike course covering 40.8k. The final 10k run follows a 4 lap loop along the side of the rowing tank on the tarmac paths.

We have 2 teams of 3 competing against each other; in the lake, completing the swim we have Lee Collas and George Kenny, cycling for glory will be Mark Stephens and Claudia Smith and running to victory (they hope) will be Simeon Taylor and Wayne Trunchion.

All for a good cause

We are raising money for Royal Brompton and Harefield charitable fund. Charity Registration No. 1053584. The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust is the largest postgraduate specialist heart and lung centre in the UK. We hope to raise as much money as possible to contribute to the specialist equipment needed to help with the research, diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering with heart and lung problems. Show your support

If you would like to show your support for the Krome Triathlon team, please make an online donation via our Just Giving page, anything that you can afford to give, is much appreciated, and will make it all worth it when we are half way round the track wondering why we agreed to do this.

Krome are proud to champion the causes of various local and national charities, and frequently donate IT equipment and monetary support to causes we believe in. We are proud that our team members feel equally as compelled to give up their own time to participate in such a great challenge for such a worthy cause. Good luck to you!
