Thursday 9th July saw Krome host their 4th annual corporate shooting event, held at the prestigious Olympic shooting ground in Bisley, Surrey. This annual event has rapidly become a firm favorite with Krome clients and vendors alike, offering the opportunity to partake in some informal networking whilst participating in a friendly sporting competition.
With the British summer weather looking promising, the day started with a blue sky and the shooters flocked to the clubhouse early for breakfast and a quick safety briefing before heading off to the Long Siberia Shooting Ground. Attendees were then divided into teams with each team being hosted by Dell and Krome representatives.
After some individual team tuition a 3 hour shooting session followed, giving attendees an opportunity to practice on various different shooting stands with different abilities, before taking part in the main event, the 24 Bird (Clay) Competition.
Competitive spirits were high after the group shoot with much talk of high scores, shooting styles and of course those clays “that got away”. The morning of shooting came to a close with all of the teams taking part in a 25 cartridge flush where each team frantically shot at a series of multiple flying clays in a high speed round.
With the guests exhausted from the mornings shooting, it was time to retire to the lodge for the prize giving ceremony followed by a 3-course lunch and some well-deserved drinks.
Congratulations went to Director Sam Mager’s brother Lance Mager who attended due to a last minute drop out. Lance, a regular shooter, scored 23 out of 24 clays, however the highest scoring registered attendee was James Bradley Carter who won the coveted “Top Gun” title for his hit rate of 21 out of 24 clays.
Top team, with a score of 94 comprised of Robin Dunn, James Bradley Carter, Alex Marsh and Hayley Burchall; closely followed by Technical Director Rupert Mills’ team in second place with a score of 86 and Commercial Director Sam Mager’s team in third with a respectable score of 82.
Looking across the score cards it appears most of the attendees managed to get to grips with the shotguns, successfully striking the majority of clays this year, with many hitting 15 or above of the 24 competition clays. The lowest score of the day went to Krome Business Manager Rosie Paxton who won the “Clay Conservationist” prize, by hitting just 7 clays, or “saving” 17, whichever way you want to look at it. She was followed closely by Ray Thomasson who, although hitting 9 clays, said “Despite the fact that I am clearly not a born marksman I did enjoy the day. You always go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a good time and I for one very much appreciated it.”
Past Krome events have included the likes of golf days, motor racing events and go karting; the shooting event however gives many attendees a chance to try something new, with no previous experience required, expectations are only placed on having fun and enjoying the day and with the weather smiling on us, it was hard not to.
One attending client commented: “Thank you very much for having me at the shooting event. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Next year again!!!” Another client simply added: “Thank you so much for a lovely day with great company, weather and of course the shooting.”
With such positive feedback from all involved, plans for the next Krome Corporate event are already underway.
